This graphic shows the performance of the Cortex-M3 core compared with the ARM7TDMI core and other 16-bit cores. Note that the Cortex-M3 core outperforms the ARM7TDMI and 16-bit cores at all clock frequencies. Additionally, the STM32 Cortex-M3 core can be clocked at high frequencies so the maximum available performance is much higher than the other cores.
