The ESR Control MLCC series was independently developed by TDK to effectively deal with this issue. This capacitor has a structure similar to the three-terminal pass through type of capacitor. By using combinations of multiple internal electrode patterns, this enables the design of higher ESR values by changing the conductive resistance value within the layered body. This allows for products to have a modified ESR value without changing the capacitance, chip size or the withstanding voltage.
