An optional PMBus interface is available. This bus is based on I²C, but has an additional SMBALERT signal line for warnings in addition to the clock and data lines. PMBus is an industry standard interface and can allow communication between the system host and the power supplies. It can work with AC/DC power supplies, POLs (point of load) DC/DC converters and microprocessor power converters.
