The interfacial resistance of phase change material is greatly improved once the first heat cycle is finished. The above graph shows the interfacial resistance dropping from 0.45 to 0.1 °C in2/W after the material changes phase. During this process the material thickness decreases, which must be managed by a mechanical attachment method that applies correct pressure throughout the lifetime of the system.
