To make a washer that is both reusable and self-sealing (able to control fluid/gas pressure up to internal and external 100 psi), APM Hexseal designed its SEELOC® self-sealing, stainless steel line of washers using a concave profile and molded-in sealing material. The silicone rubber is molded onto the steel disc using a proprietary process, resulting in a bond and a seal that extends from the hole to the edge of the washer, giving the assembly a NEMA 4X and 6 (IP66/IP68) enclosure protection.
