Fiberglass has many of the advantages of plastic but with even greater physical strength. Fiberglass is light weight, strong, and corrosion resistant. It is much more expensive than polycarbonate or ABS plastics, and is equally expensive to tool. It is a great choice when the engineer is looking for a product that is more durable than other plastics, but still lower priced than steel.
