There are five basic equations that are used for selecting and sizing supercapacitors. With the equations shown here, equation one solves the initial voltage drop due to ESR. Equation two solves the initial voltage drop due to capacitance. Combining Equation one and two will solve for the total voltage drop and creates equation three.
