Reflow profiles can vary considerably based on the type of assembly manufactured. Consumer electronics, such as handheld devices, typically use a shorter linear type reflow profile as illustrated here with the blue line. Industrial electronics frequently involve manufacturing large boards with significant thermal mass, and require a profile as shown with the black line. These longer harsh type reflow profiles can often cause soldering defects. GC 3W has been developed to accommodate a very wide reflow processing window.
