The industrial automation loop starts with the sensors for sensing the analog signal from the real world. This data is then passed through data processing and signal conditioning devices before feeding into a microcontroller or processor to do the control and data logging functions. The communication interface is the last portion of this design which carries the processed data back to the front end to close the loop.
