The second TI Design to be discussed is based on the IO-Link communication protocol that is used heavily in today’s industrial communications. IO-Link is a very popular interface used in factory automation applications, it is known as the USB of factory automation because of cost efficiency and simplicity. This is basically a 3-wire point-to-point protocol, leveraging existing wired infrastructure and reducing overall costs.
