White LEDs are increasingly being used for LCD backlight applications. In this application, the white LEDs are often composed of an 8-16 series connection, and can sometimes require  voltages of 24-48V. To satisfy these requirements, Toshiba has developed N-channel Semi-Power MOSFETs which can with stand up to 60V. This device is compatible with high-speed switching and low on-resistance, and therefore will contribute to higher efficiency and miniaturization.
