Most bottom-port microphones have very similar designs. As the name implies, the sound inlet is on the bottom, and the sensor is placed directly over the sound inlet. This creates a small front chamber that provides good high frequency response, and a large back chamber, which gives good low frequency response and good sensitivity. The difference between ST and the competitors when evaluating bottom-port microphones is primarily a function of the differences in the sensors that are being used.
