The block diagram of the L6470 is shown on this slide; it is very similar to the L6474. They both operate from 8 to 45 V, and are offered in HTSSOP and Power SO packages offering high thermal dissipation. The key difference is in the core of the device, using different logic to manage the voltage mode and generate positioning and speed profile.
