Insulation Displacement Contact (IDC) technology is used in a wide variety of connector types. From sockets to plugs to D Subs, IDC is the chosen means to terminate cable for many wire-to-board and wire-to-panel (or I/O) applications. In the interests of time, this module focuses on wiremount socket connectors, sometimes referred to as the female component in a two-part connector system.
