Extensive CFD analysis and experimental testing has been performed to study the thermal impact of the frame-clip and spring clip in the maxiGRIP assembly. These studies have shown that the low profile of the frame clip and the minimal cross-sectional area of the spring clip allow for maximum airflow through the heat sink and hence maximum cooling power.
