Pin-in-Paste (PiP) is a through-hole technology used to solder connectors on boards by using a reflow process (as in SMT) in place of traditional wave-soldering or press-fit terminations. It allows for the same time savings as when employing pick-and-place machinery as well as the higher quality of soldering found in surface-mount terminations.
