The ATmega128RFA1 is an ideal device for the new RF4CE application space, which enables designs that replace infrared remote controls with RF-based remotes. The RF4CE specifications were originally defined by the RF4CE consortium but the specifications are now maintained, developed, and marketed by the ZigBee Alliance.
