Shown here is the MLP is standing on edge and one of its small sides is held at 65°C. The hottest spot on the opposite small side with 5W of power is only 3°C hotter, and that is a thermal resistance of 0.60°C/W, only two thirds more than with the bottom heatsunk. This shows that MLP and MLS flatpack capacitors are easy to heatsink.
