Going back to our example and adding a requirement for –10 °C to +65 °C operation and > 5 years operating life we can adjust our minimum capacitance and maximum ESR requirements according to the temperature curves and general rule of thumb for operating life. Doing this gives new values of greater than 8.4 Farad and less than 0.312 Ohms.
