The CU-Varistor type CU4648 automotive series uses the equivalent of a 10mm diameter disk and is, like the previous types, encased in a surface mountable plastic housing. The main automotive applications for the CU4648 series include load dump and jump start systems in both 12V and 24V supply applications.
