The robustness of these components is apparent in their thermal derating. Most POL solutions will be rated to a reduced current under high-temperature, low-airflow conditions. The very power dense 6A PicoTLynx™ continues to provide full load current under most conditions, even at 85°C and natural convection (or no airflow) for voltages above 1.2V. The 3A PicoTLynx™ shows no need for derating at all.
