In this module we reviewed the manufacturing process and basic structure of ceramic capacitors. The critical specifications of a capacitor are the dielectric constant, dissipation factor, dielectric withstanding voltage, and insulation resistance. We discussed the characteristics of ceramic chip capacitors including low impedance, temperature coefficient, voltage coefficient and aging.
