Beyond-the-Rails™ is a new technology where a device can pass a wide -25V to +25V analog signal range, but powered only by a single low 3.3V or 5V rail. Standard devices require a supply voltage wide enough to cover the signal range. Analog Devices' new family of medium voltage switches and multiplexer operate off of a supply range from 3V to 5.5V and can pass ±25V analog signals.
