In the manufacture of metal-alloy power inductors, Murata implements a proprietary molding process which allows the inductor to have many beneficial characteristics. This slide shows an example of the interior of the small case size DFEC Series. In its production process, the metal-alloy powder is molded around a preformed wire coil that is compressed, fired, and terminated to form the final product.
