A silicon lens and ceramic package with SMD mounting are standard. Internal components include an IR detector using MEMS technology providing the thermoelectric conversion. A mixed signal processing IC offers analog amplification, analog-to-digital conversion, sensitivity correction and correction for temperature effects. Digital communication is provided via I²C directly to a microcontroller.
