ST has recently introduced a new family of power path management ICs called the Smart Pushbutton On/Off Controllers that allow for easy and safe control of an application that uses one or two pushbuttons. The controllers ensure a secure start-up or power down of a device and can also reset the microprocessor or disable power in the case of a non-responding application.
