Signal isolation essentially takes information from the real world and transfers it to delicate digital intelligence or equipment. As can be seen on this slide, the path to accomplish this can go through by various means, such as an ADC, an RS-485 interface, or a CAN transceiver. From there, the signal goes through the isolation circuit, and then the data is extracted and sent to the digital products.
