This complete BeagleBoard SDR (software defined radio) system is using the on board DSP, software, stereo output, and a microphone to communicate over radio waves. This is more of a HW oriented project. The USRP (universal software radio peripheral) is a FPGA based board used for interfacing to different antennas for the SDR.
