A major advantage of the TCR5AM is that it is a high output LDO in a small package. It can output up to 500 mA, despite being in a tiny 1.2 by 1.2 mm package. Toshiba’s packaging is thermally efficient, allowing it to dissipate heat quickly and safely without damaging the silicon. Furthermore, the N-channel MOSFET has very low resistance, which allows it to generate less heat in the first place.
