Due to the high accuracy and low cost, thermistor elements are typically the best sensor of choice for applications where the sensor assembly will be exposed to temperatures ranging from ~-50°C to ~+250°C. For applications where temperatures will fall below -50°C and increase up to +450°C, RTD elements may be better suited for the sensor assembly.
