There are currently two standards for the wireless transfer of power: the Qi standard by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and the Airfuel Alliance, a merger of former Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) and Power Matters Alliance (PMA). Airfuel Alliance uses two different technologies, a closely coupled (PMA) and a loosely coupled (A4WP) technology.
