The right hand picture shows the contact area of several heatsinks attached to a pane of glass. The contact area varies between 16.1% and 95.1% in this test, and highlights the difference between thermal tape conformability. The graph on the upper left side shows the effect of % contact area (or wet out) and chip temperature.
