The definition of a Half-Duplex system is one that provides communication in two directions, but information can only be transmitted in one direction at a time. A good example of this type of system are two way radios, “walkie-talkies”, when one handset is transmitting the other handset cannot transmit back until the initiator has completed its transaction.
