There are two types of photorelays, Form-A and Form-B. Form-A, also known as Single Pole, Single Throw Normally-Open (SPST-NO) relay, switches the output on when the input current exceeds the threshold value. In contrast, a Form-B relay also known as normally-closed (SPST-NC), is initially on and turns off when the input current exceeds the threshold value.
