The coupled inductor windings can also be connected in series for either a buck or boost converter application. When the windings are connected in series, the turns count is two times higher but the inductance is four times higher than a single winding. The HM78D-1210 series has an inductance range from 18.8 to 1880 µH, saturation current ratings to 9 A and energy storage to 500 µJ/cm3.
