To accelerate development of ambient light sensor applications, Vishay provides development kits. The kit includes a sensor board with an ambient light sensor of your choice and the TI ADS1100 analog to digital converter. The output of the sensor board is I2C which gets converted to RS-232 for serial input to a PC.
