By adding the sectional winding to the circuit, the differential mode impedance increases to the point where, at 1MHz, there is over 10 Ω of impedance attenuating the lower frequency spectrum. This increase is due to the leakage inductance that is induced between the separate windings. This acts in series with the load to provide differential noise filtering.
