Set up for the switch and midspan combination is simple. The user provides both units with AC power and connects a data-out port on the switch to the data-in port on the midspan using a Cat5e Ethernet cable. The user now connects the PoE enabled device to the power and data out port on the midspan using a Cat5e Ethernet cable to complete the set-up.
